Job Title: Quality Assistant

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION

• Inspects/audits parts, materials, and processes to insure adherence to ABB quality standards. Shares knowledge as needed and assists others to maintain production inspection and audit activities. Maintains records of inspection and audit results, and quality inspection procedures.
• Requires over 3 years up to and including 5 years’ experience in the inspection or inspection-related activities or equivalent educational background beyond a high school diploma to support the above field of knowledge

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
The job requires reading and writing skills sufficient to comprehend complex procedures and communicate problem and nonconformance details.

• The job requires working knowledge in using various mechanical, electronic, chemical, and optical measuring devices to perform dimensional and functional tests/inspections of procured and manufactured parts and components.
• The job requires familiarity with standard inspection terminology and techniques to inspect parts and components to .000050 inches.

The job requires a fundamental understanding of geometric shapes and basic concepts such as parallelism, perpendicularity, angles, and datums. Must be able to read engineering drawings and SAP purchase specifications to inspect/test parts and components. The job requires knowledge of the basic statistical concept of averages, standard deviation, and dimensional tolerance.

Salary: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
