We are seeking a Quality & Safety Manager – Corrugated Packaging Plant, to join our team who is committed to creating and delivering the best-corrugated solutions for our customers.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced results-driven Quality and Safety Manager for our corrugated carton plant in West Chicago, IL. This position will provide leadership, planning, and coaching skills to achieve the safe production of high-quality products to meet customer needs. As Quality & Safety Manager, you will ensure standards are met by enforcing customer, company, and GMP policies and procedures. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of the corrugated industry and relevant experience. Experience and familiarity with ISO 9001:2015, GMP, Food Safety Programs, and OSHA standards are considered important as well.
Responsibilities
- Review, approve and execute facility and company standard operating procedures for site implementation.
- Drives continuous improvement to improve costs, quality, and service.
- Coordinate and execute internal and GMP audits yearly.
- Drives plant accountabilities in the areas of tracking vendor performance, resolution, and disposition of customer complaints, investigate critical defects on in process and finished products and ensures all customer feedback is promptly dealt with.
- Coordinate and execute investigation of detected risks, failures, complaints, and corrective & preventative actions.
- Work closely with production managers and operators to maximize product quality and minimize cost, downtime and reduce waste.
- Execute facility improvement initiatives as determined by performance data.
- Provide tools and training for quality management and safety to facility staff.
- Assist in customer onboarding with quality activities.
- Assist in employee onboarding with quality and safety training through a new-hire safety orientation program.
- Investigate incidents, and monitor medical care.
Education & Experience
- College degree preferred (waived with relevant work experience)
- 1-3 years’ experience in quality and safety management (corrugated industry preferred)
- Amtech (Imaginera/Encore) knowledge a plus
- Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or similar certification is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as a team in a professional manner.
- Possess both oral and written skills to communicate with co-workers, customers, and upper management. The applicant must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to train others in Quality processes.
- Understanding of box converting and quality processes.
- Understanding of OSHA and safety guidelines and requirements.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
