Join our highly engaged Surgical Acute team (5th floor) as a surgical acute nurse working at Scripps Health Mercy San Diego. You’ll join a team of skilled medical professionals who provide superior health services in a caring environment. The Scripps Health team is dedicated to making a positive, measurable difference in the health of individuals in the communities we serve.

Our surgical acute nurses gain exposure to general surgical patients including bariatric, ortho, spinal, urology, medical, telemetry, and trauma. This is a high-functioning unit that boasts exceptionally high employee engagement and patients satisfaction scores.

Our RN team provides direct patient care within the scope of his/her practice. Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care, and evaluating patient's progress towards expected outcomes. The RN takes primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team under his/her supervision. Work collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.

This is a Full Time, 12 Hour Night Shift, position with benefits. This role is located at our Scripps Mercy San Diego campus in the community of Hillcrest.

This position is eligible for New Hire and Relocation Incentives up to $7K

• Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)
• Must remain in original department/specialty

• Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.

Required Qualifications:

• At least one year RN experience
• Graduate from an accredited school for nursing
• Current CA State RN license
• American Heart Association BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least one year of acute Med/Surg RN experience.
• At least one year of Acute Long Term Care experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• Bariatric Certification preferred
