PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:

The Sales Account Manager is responsible for providing support to our customers and internal teams. In this role, you will apply your business and technical acumen to best partner with customers in industrial, pharmaceutical, and other industries. You will become an expert in our manufacturing capabilities and capacities. And in determining the best fit and solutions for customers’ requirements, while helping our management team assure alignment of resources to the changing requirements of key customers.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Engage customers in technical discussion to understand their needs and determine the best solution for their application.
  • Provides product, service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Work with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to support ongoing product builds per contracts, as well as revised + new product opportunities.
  • Proactively seek contacts within key accounts to gain insight into their business demands, forecast and changing needs. Convey opportunities and risks to management.
  • Work with the Sales Manager to develop and execute strategies for meeting and exceeding revenue + margin goals with accounts.
  • Contribute to sales team meetings and complete all goals and to-dos as required.
  • Receive, enter, and confirm incoming orders.
  • Coordinating and conducting visits and presentations with customers.
  • Assist marketing efforts (technical input, project examples, events).
  • Attend various sales/product training to better support customers & sales efforts
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY:

  • High school education or equivalent, plus 2 years of college or engineering school, or technical training.
  • Minimum 5 years industry-related experience specifying or selling equipment for pharmaceutical, food and/or industrial processes.
  • Knowledgeable in pharma and food (hygienic, sanitary) requirements.
  • Demonstrated understanding of contract equipment manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated skill and experience at managing key accounts and developing relationships with primary decision makers + influencers at those accounts.
  • Detail oriented with strong planning, organization, and monitoring skills.
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills
  • Proven ability in developing multi-level contacts at customer and building strong customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple and varied projects.
  • Ability to relate well to others and gain the respect of co-workers.
  • Displays a positive attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow.
  • Ability to work independently.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Anderson Dahlen fosters a manufacturing type environment. Moderately heavy work requiring the occasional lifting of objects weighing 50 pounds or less. In the performance of essential duties, the incumbent may be required to operate a variety of industrial machining tools.
