For nearly 75 years Rice Lake Weighing Systems has been a successful, growth-oriented company known as a leader in the weighing industry and our community. RLWS is seeking a motivated individual to join our organization as a Sales Development Associate.

The Sales Development Associate will acquire the essential knowledge, skills and abilities to become a salesperson through a variety of dynamic experiences featuring people, products and processes. For appreciation of how they support the sales enterprise, structured job rotation will expose participants to customer service, marketing and product management. During each assignment, individuals will learn accurate self-assessment, effective communication skills, relationship building, empathy and personal bias. The engagement will be rounded-out with sales strategy, business processes, technical concepts and product differentiation required in all RLWS sales positions.

Essential job functions and major tasks include:

• Learn sales administration by completing rotation in assigned functions.

• Complete self-directed on-boarding; must show initiative from day 1.

• Develop a high-level understanding of weighing and measurement technology and vocabulary.

• Learn how to be a technical sales trainer with exceptional presentation and knowledge transfer skills.

• Understand dealer/customer support resources (marketing, financial services, shipping, logistics).

• Observes sales process by traveling with experienced salespeople and dealers; attend trade shows and service calls.

• Attend Service School and participate in VIP visits.

• Learn how to travel: scheduling, efficiency, dress, meals, health, work/life balance, etc.

• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational improvement opportunities, reading sales and marketing publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in sales and marketing organizations.

Qualified individuals will have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field. Candidates must be willing to eventually travel up to 75 percent of the time; travel during training will be significantly less. A valid driver's license is required for this position. Finally, the selected candidate will need strong personal computing skills; excellent interpersonal communication skills; and be self-motivated and self-directed.
