Meredith Gill Designs LLC is an award-winning small business in Center
Moriches, NY. We are fun, creative, and professional group that offers custom
couture design and alteration services. Professional Alteration Services include
bridal, special occasion dresswear, along with everyday wear like pants, dresses,
etc. Meredith Gill Designs is looking for a seamstress/alteration’s specialist to take over alterations.
Some of the things required of the job include:
- Using a sewing machine, hand sewing, ironing clothes, steaming dresses
- Daily interactions with customers over the phone and face-to-face
- Know how to preform fittings on clients
- Basic knowledge of alterations
- We specialize in bridal dresses (gowns/bridesmaids/ etc…) and women’s formal wear so experience with fittings and alterations is essential
- Hand beading, detail work with lace, beads, feathers, etc
Qualifications
- Must have training and/or experience in performing tasks listed above; or willing to train the right person at a lower pay
- A degree in fashion design or related field a plus
- Must be physically able to continuously lift (15~25lbs) and sit to work
- Knowledge of how to sew a dress from scratch is a plus
- Must have an attention for detail
Experience is an absolute must! All applicants must be able to complete all phases of alterations: Intake clients, thorough fittings, hemming, taking in at waist, adjusting straps etc…
Job Types: Full Time, Part Time, Contract
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Schedule:
-Day shift: 10am - 6pm (hours may vary)
- Tuesday – Saturday
