Job Summary

As the friendly face and brand ambassador of Watson’s Greenhouse and Nursery, the Indoor Sales position supports customers with houseplants, gift, and garden shop, and other indoor items from the moment they walk into our store. We are proud of the high quality, high service shopping experience we offer our customers, and this role is key to conveying our passion for living – garden, home, and life – to everyone who visits. This role reports to the Indoor lead. This role is seasonal with a potential to stay on after the season. You must be available to work every Saturday and Sunday from March to June. This role is Part-time for the weekend.

Position Responsibilities

• Engage customers promptly, personally, and with the goal of opening the conversation and ensuring they feel welcome.
• Swiftly and adeptly operate the cash register ringing up sales, bagging items, requesting price checks, honoring coupons, collecting payment and giving appropriate change, etc.
• Responsible for ensuring the health of Houseplants, including proper watering and care.
• Merchandise and maintain indoor inventory, including houseplants, gifts, apothecary, soil, gardening supplies, and more.
• Provide the highest level of customer service to all customers.
• Understand who our guests are, what brought them to Watson’s, their intent and timeline to purchase, creating a connection, and personalized shopping experience.
• Help the store meet sales goals.
• Value a proactive team-player outlook, jumping in to help your co-workers, leaving things better than how you found them.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Must be able to lift or move up to 50lbs, and push/pull racks on wheels of 100lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Able to work collaboratively as part of a team, willing to fill in where needed.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule of days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to stand for an 8-hour shift.
• Ability to stand, climb, squat, bend, twist, and stand for extended periods of time.
• Customer service experience required.
• Positive, enthusiastic, and passionate.
• Strong sense of team mentality and reliability.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Gardening experience and/or plant knowledge.

Pay Range: $15.74-$16.50
