As a Seed Agronomist you create chemistry by…

• Thinking strategically on short-term and long-term business development.
• Reacting to market developments and making critical decisions for region.
• Working closely with commercial operations, marketing, supply chain, production, breeding, trait development, technical service, business representatives and ag solutions advisors to profitably manage a robust product portfolio of seeds and traits.
• Outlining, implementing, and managing a broad testing program to effectively evaluate BASF soybean varieties for commercial advancement and placement refinement.
• Being actively engaged in special projects to support growth of seed and trait business in US and/or globally.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Your formula for success…

• MS or PhD degree in a biological or agricultural related science preferred. PhD with minimum of 4 years; MS with minimum of 8 years but 10 plus years is preferred.
• Minimum three years high level performance (at or above expectations) in previous position in an agriculturally related field.
• Communication and human relations skills are necessary to perform the duties of the position
• Technical knowledge of crop management practices of soybean in the US.
• A specialized knowledge of variety testing, statistical analysis and experimental design is required.
• Proficient computer skills are needed to analyse data, prepare promotional and training literature, and to accomplish written communication tasks.
• High level of competency in product portfolio, product placement, product management, competitive offerings and presentations in support of our sales organization in soybean.
• Must reside in Eastern Iowa to Northern Illinois area.

BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $108,16 – $148,720. Actual pay will be determine based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factor permitted by law.
