Southeast Healthcare is a comprehensive provider of mental health, chemical dependency, healthcare, and homeless services assisting diverse populations regardless of their economic status. With the belief that all people have the capacity to grow and change, we provide our services to people of all ages, cultures, races, religious preferences, genders, and sexual orientations in order to enhance wellness and recovery, thereby improving families, workplaces, and communities. Incorporated in 1978 in Columbus Ohio, Southeast provides a wide range of integrated healthcare services focused on people living with severe and persistent mental illness, substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, and individuals who are low-income. Services include case management, individual, group and family counseling, primary health care, pharmacy, dental, health coaching and prevention, alcohol and drug outpatient, and medication assisted treatment. Additionally, Southeast provides vocational services and services to homeless individuals. Southeast is a partner in the Community Catalyst project, a collaborative effort with the goal of improving health outcomes and reducing health disparities. This VISTA member will formulate events and activities that center around nutrition, health habits, health indicators, and wellness practices. They will also develop educational materials addressing these topics and outreach to the community to promote these concepts. The VISTA will listen to community input and assess needs to develop strategies that expand engagement and empower the community. Partnership development will also be key to success and the VISTA will work closely with the YMCA hosting community activities, and work with other organizations to intervene in the community.
