CAREER OPPORTUNITY
The Senior Human Resources Manager will proactively engage with our corporate supply chain function and recycling facilities to develop an outstanding and high-performing work environment. This position is responsible for providing HR leadership and expertise, influencing business and talent outcomes for the functions.
Support is focused on providing process and policy guidance across the standalone facilities with limited staffing, and requirements to adhere to state and federal employment laws, regulations, and statutory requirements. This position builds strong partnership relationships with the fiber procurement and recycling facility leaders, employees and brokers the support of the full HR function to ensure that the business and associated organizational/talent management objectives are achieved.
HOW YOU WILL IMPACT WESTROCK
- Lead, support and provide solutions for employee relations, performance management, change management, development, and succession planning. Manage and support initiatives which serve to advance the agenda of the function and ensure we have strong programming in place to attract, develop and retain the talent and capabilities needed to meet business objectives.
- Partner and engage with compensation, benefits, and HR services teams to provide human resources solutions center.
- Work with leaders and employees to support culture and engagement activities to ensure a high engaged work environment.
- Work with talent acquisition to create strategies that will attract outside talent and support the selection assessment process. Collaborate with the learning and organizational development team to identify necessary training solutions and individual leadership coaching. Including assessment of leaders and the pipeline of internal talent for on-going and future based needs.
- Support effective employee relations, including strong communication both written and verbal to align policies and processes around remote sites, building adherence to policies and guidance. Will be responsible for leading compliance and employee relations investigations through to resolution.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related discipline
- HR Certifications such as PHR or SPHR is preferred.
- Seven to ten years’ experience in a large complex environment operating as a business partner.
- Experience in employee relations, organizational development & planning, talent management, and compensation/rewards.
- Experience working in a labor environment, union or non-union.
- Demonstrated ability in applying functional knowledge to drive business challenges.
- A hands-on, self-motivated, and goal-oriented individual who is an agent for positive change and innovation.
- A proven ability to take initiative to anticipate customer needs and recommend actions to address challenges.
- Business and financial acumen, able to work with credibility and influence functional leaders.
- Strong communications and ability to work in a matrixed environment; ability to build and maintain strong partnerships across multiple areas and geographies. Proven ability to work independently and

- Analytical and problem-solving skills along with the ability to assess situations from both a business and functional perspective.
