Barbaricum seeks a Training Specialist to join a team supporting the Veterans Health Administration’s (VHA) Office of Connected Care (OCC). VHA’s mission is to provide benefits and services to U.S. Veterans, their caregivers, and/or beneficiaries. VHA provides care for Veterans in person at more than 1,400 VA facilities, through the community care network and through VA’s extensive use of connected care. VA connected care leverages advanced technologies to connect with increasing numbers of Veterans and provide them with access to VA care from their homes and communities.
OCC is charged with the design, development, implementation, and management of VA’s connected care programs, systems, and services. This contract will provide program support integration to OCC in support of VA’s mission to leverage connected care technologies to enhance care accessibility, capacity, quality, and satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Develop training plans and materials for VA connected care technologies and technology programs and deliver training to Veterans, their caregivers, and VA staff, as well as provide supplementary training resources and reference materials (e.g., podcasts, multimedia presentations, social media, news articles, scripts, and frequently asked questions (FAQs)) for use during training and after training is completed.
- Utilize VA-owned Drupal, Blackboard, MS SharePoint, and/or VA Talent Management System (TMS) templates, as appropriate, to post and launch newly developed training materials to the appropriate training portal.
- Use a systematic approach to training to analyze jobs and job tasks to identify job-specific required skills and knowledge.
- Design, develop, and implement training courses that provide job-specific skills and knowledge.
- Prepare instructional materials (course objectives and outline, background material, and training aids).
- Prepare student materials (course manuals, workbooks, handouts, completion certificates, and course critique forms).
- Train personnel by conducting formal classroom courses, on-the-job training, workshops, and seminars.
- Develop and implement evaluation instruments to measure student success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 6+ years of related experience developing and deploying training programs and materials
- Experience developing and providing technical and end-user training on computer hardware and application software
- Experience in information systems development, training, or related fields
- Strong oral presentation and written communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project
- Previous experience working on healthcare projects preferred
- Previous experience supporting VA or VHA a strong plus
