Job description
The Weld Trainer will have the primary responsibility of overseeing, coordinating, and ensuring training for welders and communicating requirements. The Weld Trainer will ensure that the weld quality inside Rotex Global continues to meet or exceed industry standards. This role will lead on maintaining and developing training schedules for all weld training for current and future welders. They will communicate with trainees and track completions and outcomes. The best candidate for this role will be a high-energy, self-starting professional who is passionate about training in all facets and can jump in with both feet.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
· Work with subject matter experts to establish rigorous training requirements.
· Assist in development of training aids such as tests, manuals, and handbooks.
· Communicate training program schedule with trainees and management.
· Map out training plans for individual employees as necessary.
· Present training materials using recognized training techniques and tools.
· Design and apply assessment tools to measure training effectiveness.
· Track and report on training outcomes.
· Provide feedback to program participants and management.
· Maintain employee training records.
· Handle logistics for training activities including venues and equipment.
· Order training supplies and materials.
· Research other training methods and certifications that could be utilized to reduce costs or improve training curriculum.
· Develop competency guidelines to assist in assessing current employee skill levels.
· Create/maintain the yearly training schedule.
· Manage and communicate out all training opportunities.
· Manage the shop training for weld apprentices by working with shop managers and the apprentice to ensure the proper training is provided.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Education
Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in Welding and a minimum of 5 years related experience; or a minimum of 10 years related weld experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in welding.
Skills/Experience
- Ability to use standard measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, etc.) – Required, expert skill level
- Experience in adjusting weld parameters to ensure quality welds – Required, expert skill level
- Able to communicate effectively to different departments in the organization- Required, Intermediate skill level
- Experience in Root Cause analysis – Preferred, basic skill level
- Experience with nondestructive test methodologies- Required, basic skill level
- Ability to interpret and implement specification standards- Required, intermediate skill level
- Ability to instruct others on proper techniques- Required, intermediate skill level
- Experience with Microsoft Office- Required, basic skill level

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
