This Industrial Engineering Co-Op Student will provide valuable experience and direct exposure to manufacturing operations in a high-tech environment. The Oshawa Assembly Plant has undergone major plant conversions, which has seen the introduction of the best available technology! Throughout our Manufacturing operations, we are using innovative ways to problem solve, and for the design of systems and process. We are a company that will give you responsibility, accountability, and a team environment that encourages involvement and critical thinking.

- Direct labour, line balancing, layout and cost savings
- Indirect labour, line balancing, layout and throughput analysis
- Special projects, labour savings, suggestion processing, GMS workshop
You will also learn skills of dealing with people, working under time constraints, design, and practical implementation of university learning.
Additional Job Description
Qualifications:
- Pursuit of a Bachelor's (2nd or 3rd year) degree in the following area: Industrial Engineering
- Able to work 40 hours per week in Canada and for 4, 8, 12, or 16-month term (1-4 consecutive semesters) starting January 2023
- Willing to work in a plant environment and flexible hours (shift work, weekends, and overtime to meet business needs)
- Successful candidates will be required to attest to their vaccination status (or indicating that they do not wish to disclose), and any job offer will be conditional on the candidate providing that attestation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior manufacturing experience, knowledge of production environments, and in automotive industry
- AutoCAD would be an asset
Desired Skills:
- Outstanding leadership, interpersonal, and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex subjects to a wider audience
- High level of integrity, ability to deal with ambiguity, takes initiative/self-directed
- Evidence of strong character with integrity, honesty, accountability and trust
- Consistently demonstrates innovative thinking that is customer-centric
- Excellent project management skills and the proven track record to manage numerous projects at any given
- Possess strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Fundamental digital literacy including understanding of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and Project
