Neighborhood is a specialty coffee shop serving locally roasted organic Canyon Coffee and Sey Coffee from Brooklyn, NY in a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment. Located on La Brea Avenue in Hollywood, the shop was designed as a gathering place and a calm respite from the busy world outside. Come get creative with us!

Seeking:

We are a friendly, motivated, and supportive team of coffee and service-loving individuals and are seeking to fill a full time Supervisor/Shift Lead position. The Supervisor/Shift lead will be a source of knowledge to the team for operations, quality control, and other tasks set by management, while representing the ideals of Neighborhood by providing lean-in hospitality and a cultivated coffee experience. Our current team is full of seasoned specialty coffee industry individuals who use our vast experiences to curate a coffee program that nurtures experimentation and values quality above all.

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Provide a sense of leadership to the team during their shift while working collaboratively and empathetically with team members
• Regularly communicate with the Manager regarding all aspects of operations
• Manage inventory and orders with efficiency and promptness
• Effectively utilize and care for coffee-making equipment; dial in and improve upon recipes and extraction
• Ability to multi-task, keep calm in busy situations, and are innovative with problem solving
• Prioritize cleanliness and good organization throughout each day
• Warm, genuine engagement with customers; ability to develop rapport with returning guests

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Passionate about coffee and hospitality
• Minimum 2 years of specialty coffee experience
• Full time position, must have weekend and holiday availability
• Experience and ability to work in high volume environment
• Current CA Food Handler’s Certification
• To the extent permitted by applicable law, all new hires shall be fully vaccinated for COVID
