The Networks of Mid-Missouri is seeking a full-time Content Editor for its newsroom in Columbia. This is a Monday through Friday position with flexibility required by the employee. Two years' newsroom experience along with a college degree in journalism or related field is a plus.
Job Description:
This position takes the lead in our newsroom at generating content and getting it covered on all platforms. Duties include enterprising story ideas, following up on news leads, monitoring breaking news and coordinating reporting crews for the news department. Additional duties will include writing and producing content for the station's website and other digital platforms, maintaining a multiplatform promotional plan and supporting news department publishing goals.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have the ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced, multi-platform, research-driven newsroom. Critical thinking skills, superior writing skills, resourcefulness and the ability to multi-task are a must. Good communication, organization and leadership are also keys to this position. Candidate must have a valid Missouri driver's license and pass a drug test and background check.
Education/Experience: A college degree in journalism, communication or a related field is desired. Two years' newsroom experience is preferred.
