Production Worker-Day/Afternoon/Night Shift

Role Purpose:

Provide support to assure the accurate, timely and quality delivery of foam seating parts to customers.

Responsibilities:

· Understand all requirements for Personal Protective Equipment, machine guarding, COVID-19 Safety Protocols, and other safety requirements; and comply with each applicable to position assigned.

· Perform production tasks as outlined in SOTs (training provided)

· Assist other manufacturing colleagues as needed to complete customer orders.

· Maintain work area to 5S standards for organization, housekeeping and inspection. Assist colleagues as needed to support 5S .

· Be actively involved with Continuous Improvement Program and participate in Kaizen events as scheduled.

Qualifications:

· Past work experience demonstrating reliability and punctuality

· Must be able to stand on feet for 8 or more hours.

· Must have ability to use both hands and arms for assembling product and use hand tools

· Must be able to learn to identify product defects

· Must be able to work overtime as needed.

· Must be able to work the assigned shift as scheduled, which may include night shift

· Must be 18 years of age or older, and legally able to work in Canada

Permanent unionized position with benefits (after 90 work days), DC pension (after one year)

Salary:

Year one: Online night shift – $19.68 per hour (inclusive of night shift premium). Day and Afternoon shifts - $19.18.

Year One: Offline night shift – $19.18 per hour (inclusive of night shift premium). Day and Afternoon shifts - $18.68.
Regular increases on anniversary date and each summer thereafter to the top rate in collective agreement.

Shifts:
Steady Night shift (11pm start), or Day/Afternoon rotation every two weeks (7am and 3pm starts)

Salary: $18.68-$19.68 per hour
