Job description

A young woman with intellectual/developmental disabilities living in Bloomsburg, PA seeks a Direct Support Professional to assist and support her with activities of daily living in her home and in the community. The individual would like to increase her independence in all aspects of her daily life and needs assistance with self-determination and aiding with activities of daily living including assisting with meals, hygiene, and dressing. The individual would also like to participate in activities outside of her home so that she is able to increase her community interaction and gain independence.

Minimum Qualifications: A qualified candidate must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, maintain a working cellphone, and must submit to a background check. Experience in the field of developmental/intellectual disabilities is preferred but not required. Capable of physical movements such as lifting 25 pounds, stooping, bending, squatting, pulling, and reaching.

Preferred but not required:

• Current CPR/First Aid Certification
• Experience providing in-home care
• Experience with service documentation

Shift availability:

• Every other weekend (Friday through Monday)
• Opportunities to fill open shifts up to 40 hours weekly.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 12 hour shift
• Day shift
• Night shift
• Overnight shift
• Weekend availability

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Caregiving: 3 years (Required)
