Interim Director of Surgical Operations

Our esteemed healthcare organization is seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join us as an Interim Director of Surgical Operations near Morgan City, LA.

This is a temporary leadership role within our surgical services department, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our surgical services during a transitional period. Responsibilities:
Provide interim leadership and strategic direction for our surgical services department during a transitional period

Oversee and manage all aspects of surgical operations, ensuring compliance with quality standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements

Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and outcomes

Evaluate and streamline operational processes to enhance efficiency, patient flow, and resource utilization

Develop and implement strategies to improve patient satisfaction, staff engagement, and overall performance metrics

Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting effective communication and interdisciplinary teamwork

Provide guidance and support to surgical staff, facilitating their professional development and growth

Monitor and assess surgical services' financial performance, budget utilization, and resource allocation

Collaborate with hospital leadership to ensure alignment with organizational goals and initiatives

Participate in the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of permanent leadership for the surgical services department

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)

Significant experience in surgical operations management, preferably in a leadership role

In-depth knowledge of surgical services operations, including perioperative care, sterile processing, and surgical quality improvement

Proven ability to effectively lead and manage diverse surgical teams

Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance, and patient safety standards

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels

Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to drive process improvement initiatives

Proficiency in utilizing healthcare technology, electronic medical records, and surgical information systems

Flexibility and adaptability to navigate through transitional periods and manage change effectively
