Position Summary:

The Expeditor coordinates with supply chain, manufacturing, warehouse and stores in order to maintain the appropriate level of inventory to support planning and production needs. This individual will utilize acquired knowledge to purchase goods and services meeting specifications and quality; lead-time requirements at the most favorable prices for the company.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Assist and support Procurement and Production teams against multiple customer requirements with support from planning.
• Purchasing team open order expediting of both standard inventory and consumables products to ensure minimal production shortages.
• Updating of Supplier open purchase order backlogs to reflect accurate and current delivery dates.
• Ensuring adequate stock levels to support production requirements both from an information systems support and physical bin inspections.
• Respond with a sense of urgency to any request or issue and provides information and/or resolution in an expeditious manner to the appropriate departments.
• Work with ME to source approved alternates.
• Source and execute on urgent buys in the market to resolve critical shortages.
• Provide assistance with Non-Conformance Material resolution and invoice discrepancies.
• Display good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Exhibit time management and critical thinking skills to prioritize responsibilities.
• Performs other duties as required.

Position requirements:

• Diploma or designation in Supply Chain Management or a related discipline is an asset
• 2-3 years of related experience in electronic manufacturing is an asset
• Membership with APICS, SCMA or other Supply Chain professional organizations is an asset.
• Experience working within a fast paced manufacturing environment, preferably within the electronics industry.
• Experience working with an ERP system (GP and Oracle is an asset).
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills - ability to clearly and concisely convey information through emails, dialogue, phone calls and other correspondence.
• Excellent organizational skills - ability to multitask and effectively prioritize and perform tasks efficiently.
• Strong self-starter with the ability to work with various teams to achieve results and meet targets in a fast paced environment
• Analytical, problem solver - ability to identify, evaluate and effectively resolve problems
• Develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
