Oakville:
This position is stationed at Medcan’s Oakville location at 2275 Upper Middle Road East. The successful candidate will train at 150 York Street and be transferred to Oakville as of November.
The Role:
Medcan is recruiting for a Facilities Attendant for to join our client-focused Facilities team. We are looking for a well-spoken individual with exceptional client service skills and a great attitude. The role is responsible for maintaining clean and attractive conditions of all of the Clinic premises including locker rooms, lounges, offices and examination rooms. Will be assigned duties as directed by the Manager, Hospitality. This is a full-time position and must be available for all shifts as assigned. The ideal candidate has some housekeeping and light food and beverage experience and an appreciation for attention to detail.
The Accountabilities:
  • General maintenance of all areas of the clinic
  • Housekeeping opening and closing procedures
  • Setting up and managing breakfast, lunch and snacks in clinic lounges
  • Stocking and inventory for the clinic lounges
  • Maintenance of restrooms and locker rooms
  • Inventory and order placement for daily breakfast, lunch and snacks
  • Review and reporting of any maintenance deficiencies
  • Linen supplies and inventory
  • Assistance with food and beverage service
  • Spot checking and refresh of all public areas
  • Responding to client requests
  • Assisting nurses in setting up examination rooms throughout the day
  • Checking and distributing incoming deliveries
  • Cleaning of equipment in endoscopy suite if-needed
  • Clinic supplies and deliveries as needed
  • Sterilization of equipment
  • Disposal of clinic waste including medical/bio hazard waste
  • Preventive maintenance
  • Coordinating with other clinic staff to ensure exceptional delivery of service
  • All other tasks as assigned by Manager, Hospitality
The Requirements:
  • Prior hotel Housekeeping experience in a 4-5 Star Hotel is an asset
  • Customer service skills training
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization and time management
  • Full-time position and must be available as assigned
This is an full-time position and scheduled for 5 days per week between Monday through Saturday. The role sits primarily at our Oakville clinic but requires flexibility to commute to our Toronto clinic at 150 York St. on an as-needed basis.
