General Manager

Color World Painting an affiliate of Authority Brands Inc. is seeking a General Manager who will be the leader of the Columbus corporate unit and sets the standard for what clients, employees and subcontractors will expect for Color World Painting. Responsible for oversight of all operation activities and maximizing profit and maintaining high ethical standards in all aspects of the operation of the business. The company’s brand, reputation and financial performance relies on the proper execution of the responsibilities of this role.

Responsibilities:
  • Develops and delivers business plans to achieve budgeted sales and required profits. This includes the development of plans for manpower, training, marketing, organizational structure, and budgeting.
  • Directly supervises the Operations and Administrative Teams of the business and Sales Leadership to ensure all established goals are achieved.
  • Overall responsibility and accountability to ensure that the overall Health, Safety & Environmental culture, and program exists, and the necessary resources are provided within the associated location.
  • Ensures vehicles fleet are maintained both mechanically and visually to company standards. Also ensures office/warehouse facility is maintained appropriately.
  • Interviews and approves all candidates for hire prior to job offers being extended. Ensures recruiting activities are constant.
  • Conducts weekly meetings with department leaders.
  • Conduct performance reviews holding their team members accountable to performance, behavior, and attendance standards.
  • Ensures the morale of employees at the location is positive and goal focused. Publicly recognize great performances in all departments.
  • Coordinates with Marketing team to implement digital and media strategy in local market, insures proper use of all brand standards and marks.
  • Reviews payroll reports to ensure hours and pay (including overtime and minimum wage) rates match business volume and legal requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Advanced Degree and/or 5+ years of successful home services industry profit center leadership experience with a track record of increasing responsibility with past employers in the same or similar industry
  • Must learn/know the laws governing business and employment in the local market.
  • Experience in and ability to motivate teams through leading by example.
  • Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills, including strong coaching skills.
  • Proven, superior customer service and sales abilities with a strong understanding of job costing.
  • Proven ability to manage and deliver budgeted sales and EBITDA monthly.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends.
  • Ability and willingness to relocate if necessary.
