Job Summary

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Shipper/Receiver is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate receipt of incoming items received and is responsible to ship materials and products to the recipient or record and store in the warehouse inventory in accordance with company guidelines, giving careful consideration to using the most reliable, economical and efficient methods. The Shipper/Receiver must work in compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Act legislation and its regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Receive and process material orders on a daily basis, including accepting deliveries, labeling them and distributing packages and letters internally.

· Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods

· Coordinate deliveries to customers and clients on a daily basis, including boxing goods, addressing packages, labelling packages, and staying in contact with shipping companies.

· All paperwork must be completed in compliance with customer demands (i.e. Certificate of Procedures)

· Adding stock/inventory to the warehouse inventory control system (Business Vision).

· Maintain the company stockroom by cleaning, organizing, and labeling items in storage on a regular basis.

· Keep records of goods that have been shipped and received, preparing regular shipping and receiving reports for supervisors.

· Place merchandise in a warehouse or storage facility by boxing and lifting items as necessary

· Operate Forklift other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods

· Schedule large shipments and coordinate logistics to ensure that there is enough storage space for incoming items and personnel on hand to manage incoming shipments.

· Perform customer service duties as necessary, maintaining good relationships with shipping companies and clients who are receiving goods

· Understand and work within all safety and quality policies and procedures

· Awareness of surroundings at all times to ensure safety and mitigate incidents or accidents.

· Any and all other duties assigned

Skills, Abilities and Qualifications

Essential

  • Must be able to operate a forklift

· Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs effectively, and bend, squat, lunge, balance, climb ladders with tools or materials.

· Ability to stand for long periods of time

· Good math skills and must be able to accurately read/use/measure with a measuring tape

· Must be adaptable and trainable and open to cross-training

Preferred

  • Experience working in an ISO Certified organization

· Experience in a related clerical occupation or as a warehouse worker

· Forklift license

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing/ Fabrication work environment
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high
  • Exposure to contaminants such as dust within the work environment

o Products are received, inspected, counted, and entered into inventory and put away or distributed internally in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy

o Record exact times for each step in the receiving process and compare to average handling time for the department.

o No material/product backlog waiting to be entered into inventory or distributed

o Products are accurately labelled and shipped and paperwork for all products that have been shipped or received is completed correctly

o Accurately coordinate deliveries to customers and clients on a daily basis, including boxing goods, addressing packages, labelling packages, and staying in contact with shipping companies with strong attention to detail

o No customer returns that were caused by incorrect order fulfilment

o Understand potential and actual workplace hazards, understand how to safely operate all machinery and tools, and wear/use the appropriate PPEs at all times

o Follow all Health and Safety standards as set out in the company Health and Safety Policy and Procedures Manual and safety measures as trained and set out by the warehouse manager

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: From $17.00 per hour
