IT Career Lab Instructor Full-Time Lisle, IL

National Able Network, a growing nonprofit agency specializing in the provision of innovative employment and training programs, seeks a dynamic instructor with a track record of success to teach classes in Microsoft and/or Cisco and/or CompTIA for its educational division, IT Career Lab in Golden Valley, MN. Certifications offered include (though are not limited to): Microsoft Modern Desktop Admin Associate, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Azure, ITIL v4 Foundation (via Axelos), and CompTIA A+. The qualified candidate possesses experience in curriculum development, methodology, and delivery of interactive, facilitation-based training utilizing multiple teaching platforms including classroom, web-based, and hands-on methods.
Responsibilities:
  • Deliver (at minimum) 18 hours of instruction per week (mix of in-person, hybrid, and remote-live modalities)
  • Teach multiple (3-6) technical classes per quarter across multiple subjects (see above for details)
  • Coalesce existing resources and custom-built supplemental instructional tools to manage effective classes
  • Provide instruction for up to 20 students per class at an agreed upon schedule with ITCL Operations Manager and Program Director
  • Make all reasonable efforts to teach and prepare each student to understand and pass certification exams
  • Adapt the curriculum based on students’ experience and ability during the course
  • Track attendance and provide weekly student grade reports to ITCL Operations Manager
  • Perform administrative duties related to students’ programs
  • Obtain and utilize knowledge of all Student Support areas (admissions, student accounts, advising, testing, and coaching services) as well as academic & administrative policy and procedures.
  • Advise and provide technical assistance when requested to ITCL regarding program/process improvements
  • Advise ITCL Operations Manager and Program Director on new courses of study to consider for course catalogs
  • Inform ITCL Operations of any issues, e.g. student preparation, physical classroom, technology, etc.
  • Other strategic planning activities related to ITCL program design will be assigned
Knowledge or Expertise:
  • Experience in course development, instruction, and facilitation of training for adults
  • Expert on Microsoft Official Courseware AND/OR Cisco Networking Academy and curriculum
  • Technical training experience, technical certification and proven track record in presenting technical information to diverse audiences; including, but not limited to the following:
  • Microsoft Modern Desktop Admin Associate
  • Cisco CCNA
  • CompTIA A+, Network+ and Security+
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator
  • Proven, prior success with high student passage rates for certification exams
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate blended learning training models (i.e. classroom, web-based instructor lead; web-based self-directed)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Demonstrates active listening and ability to build rapport with diverse learners
  • Polished, professional presentation abilities
  • High creativity and flexibility
  • Self-starter who can work and make decisions with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with consistent reliable follow-through
  • Post-secondary degree, and other certifications in related fields preferred
  • 5+ years of experience working in Information Technology preferred
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Microsoft Certified Trainer OR Cisco Certified Academy Instructor
  • Microsoft Modern Desktop Admin Associate OR Cisco CCNA
  • 2+ years experience in course development, instruction, and facilitation of training for adults
  • Travel to and from the Lisle Training Facility is required

Salary Range - $60,000 to $80,000 (based on experience and qualifications)
