About This Role
This role will support the execution of internal audit projects through the identification operational and financial risk areas, development and completion of audit test plans and the communication of observations and recommendations to enhance the control environment. You will collaborate with other internal and external team members on various audits. You will ensure timely and thorough completion of your assigned responsibilities in a high-quality manner.
What you'll do
- Identify internal and external risk factors, control objectives and control activities to assist with the development of audit scope, objectives, and work programs during the planning phase of each audit
- Evaluate the adequacy of internal control and processes through detailed testing of key integrated and cross-functional operational projects (e.g., end-to-end process reviews, compliance reviews, etc.)
- Document work papers to support audit observations for review by audit management in concise and high-quality manner.
- Assist in communicating audit observations, issues and related root causes with audit management and auditee to ensure factual accuracy of the observation and risk is clearly articulated.
- Execute test plans of remediation actions related to critical observations across financial, operational and governance audits via a variety of methods and communicating results to in-charge team members.
- Help plan, test, and review Sarbanes-Oxley control activities, processes and related controls. The candidate will spend up to 35% of their time on SOX testing with the objective of transitioning to operational audits over time.
- Establishes effective business relationships within the company and assists management in the understanding and adoption of internal control principles
- Desire to develop data analytics skillset by use of tools such as Alteryx / Tableau to enhance ability to execute plan

Required Skills
- 0-2 years of financial statement auditing and/or accounting experience
- Ability to travel up to 20% to international markets for assignments, as necessary.
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance with master’s degree / MBA a plus.
- Knowledge of the Sarbanes – Oxley Act of 2002 and sections regarding internal control requirements
- Functional knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, General Accepted Auditing Standards, and other applicable regulatory requirements
- Desire to obtain professional certification including CPA, Chartered Accountant or equivalent and progress towards certification within first year of hire required.
- Curiosity and ability to ask next level question to obtain baseline understanding of work being performed.
Preferred Skills
- Big Four experience a plus
- Life Sciences industry experience a plus
- Non-audit experience such as financial planning & analysis, operational accounting, or compliance
- 150 credit hours desired in order to obtain CPA certification.
