Residential Engineering Design Review Supervisor / Journeyman Electrician - *Must live (or currently reside) on Oahu, Hawaii*

Hawaii Unified (HU) is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Journeymen Electrician to join our company in the Engineering Design Review Management position. This critical managerial position entails working with our site survey and design personnel to approve all plan sets prior to applying for permitting on both Oahu and Maui.

Responsibilities of the Residential Journeyman Electrician:

HUI’s Design Review Manager will be responsible for vetting all initial plans completed by our chosen engineers. He/she must review all plan sets for accuracy, code compliance, and buildable confirmation (buildability). The experienced Journeyman Electrician must address issues, including main panel upgrades and reroof issues. Corrections are sent back to the design team until approved. Approvals are moved on to our permit application submission team.

Electricians should also be able to demonstrate proficiency in the engineering of residential PV systems, as well as an aptitude regarding different Panel, Battery, Inverter, and Main Panel manufacturers.

An Engineering Design Review Management Electrician should have the following entry Qualifications:

• Hawaii Electrical Journeyman License is highly preferred. However, 5+ year electrician with residential solar installation experience will be considered.
• 5 years of direct solar installation experience (residential or commercial) preferred
• Excellent team communication skills with a professional and positive demeanor.
• Troubleshooting: Journeymen electricians must be able to find the root cause of issues and think logically about solutions in all designs.
• Critical Thinking: When diagnosing problems, Review Managers must think critically in their process of correcting the design flaw and communicating back to the engineering team.
• Assist with proper equipment layout and preparation for installation for all plan sets.
• Underground layout and rough-in design assistance, if needed.
• Potential trouble shooting with our install teams on the ground.
• Must fully comprehend electrical theory and NFPA 70 National Electric Code.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
