What is Job Corps? It is the country's most extensive nationwide residential career training program and has been operating for over 50 years. The program helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24 complete their high school education, trains them for meaningful careers, and assists them with obtaining employment. Job Corps has trained and educated over two million individuals since 1964.

Oneonta Job Corps offers training in the medical trades (Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, and Medical Administrative Assistant), Automobile trades (Auto Body and Auto Technician), Construction Trades (Tile Setting, Cement Mason, and Electrical), and our advanced trades (Overhead Line, Rural Underground Distribution, SMART Meter, and our Drone Program).

Position Available: Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a full-time Maintenance Specialist who will perform general maintenance repairs and upkeep duties to ensure a safe and healthy environment.

Oneonta Job Corps consists of several buildings that include classrooms, vocational training areas, general office areas, and recreational areas. General work details may include carpentry work in repairing or replacing doors, windows, walls, flooring, or any other work pertaining to wood structures. Other duties may include plumbing, heating, air-conditioning work, ductwork, piping instrument controls, etc. that do not require technicians to perform.

High School Diploma or GED. Demonstrating working knowledge of electrical, HVAC, building maintenance, and construction fields. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Compensation is based on experience. The candidate must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
