$18.00/hr DOE, TEMPORARY POSITION (pending fiscal budget approval to determine permanent/full-time/benefits)
GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
Under general supervision, performs parking permit sales. Maintains parking permit data base, platforms, and verification of parking payments. Verifies and accounts for parking permit mail outs as well as organization of parking permit affidavit forms. Keeps records of appeals, voids, payments as it relates to parking.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Using electronic spreadsheets and regularly monitors revenues of parking. Drafts and inputs journal entries as required to record parking revenue transactions; performs general cashier duties as required to collect revenues.
  • Using electronic spreadsheets to generate parking information such as spaces, mobile app, citations, and other items as needed.
  • Keeps records of parking permits by mail, over the counter, and via web based applications. To include preparing and validating parking payments.
  • Responsible for daily parking updates, assessment and monitoring of parking street signs, space numbers, and obstructions.
  • Examines and reviews parking appeals, citations, and discrepancies. Handles parking correspondence via email, phone, and web based applications.
  • Updates and reviews website application for parking program.
  • Performs customer service and general cashier duties as needed.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS
CASH RECEIPTS
  • Keeps records of daily cash receipts received by mail, and over the counter, and via web based applications; validates amount and assigns proper account numbers; prepares daily cash deposits.
  • Counts cash drawer and balances to "Z" tape from register; prepares associated deposits.
  • Records daily parking citations issued and payments received into the software application; as required, sets-up the court hearing dates and submits the Clerk of Circuit Court.
  • Reconcile cash receipts in general ledger to daily cash deposits from deposit slips and daily cash reports.
  • Performs other related work as required.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from high school supplemented by course work in bookkeeping or accounting, and 1 to 2 years of experience in accounting clerical work; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
