Job Overview:
Responsible for hiring, training and supervising employees including hiring,
development, recognition, and progressive discipline in accordance with
established policies and applicable laws.
Responsible for planning, scheduling, and directing the work efforts of
production department associates in an efficient manner to meet established
safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.
Position Objectives:
- Hire, direct, evaluate, and manage a competent staff including line leads and production staff
- Interpret company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations
- Manage employee performance through motivation, delegation, development, counseling, and conflict resolution
- Manage all aspects of daily time and attendance for hourly team
- Manage production schedules through the ERP system, and manages production employee schedules to support production needs as planned by the Supply Chain Manager and Customer Service
- Interprets specifications, prints, and job orders to pod leads and assemblers, and assigns duties per skill and schedule
- Establish and adjust work procedures to meet production schedule
- Ensure production paperwork is complete and accurate
- Coordinate with the general manager, engineering, quality, customer service, purchasing and accounting to meet or exceed safety, quality, delivery, and cost standards
- Recommend measures to support continuous improvement for employee performance, equipment performance, and product quality
- Evaluate procedures and recommend measures to maintain safety, quality, efficiency, service, and cost effectiveness
- Builds a work environment that is cooperative, respectful, and productive
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required- Post High School education preferred
- Two years of supervisory experience preferred
- Excellent communication and people skills required
- Demonstrated leadership, team-building and coaching skills
- Demonstrated ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills
- Demonstrated ability to carry out tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience or willingness and ability to be trained in best practices towards implementing and using continuous improvement/lean manufacturing tools
- Must be proficient in keyboarding and MS Office Suite
- Experience with ERP preferred
- Demonstrated excellent attendance required – this position is not eligible for remote work
- Willingness and ability to work extra hours as required
