SUMMARY

Hennepin Healthcare has a current opening for a Radiology (X-Ray) Supervisor in our Radiology department. This full-time position will work evenings from 3:00 to 11:30pm. This position will manage and coordinate daily operations of the X-Ray department and ensure each area is adequately staffed to meet patient demand.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs the work of technologists in area that they supervise
• Supervises, provides performance feedback, coaches and conducts performance reviews
• Observes students and provides feedback to student coordinator on an on-going basis
• Responsible for departments operational excellence and ensure that the department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures and professional standards
• Ensures proper utilization of departments financial resources
• Interacts and communicates effectively with department manager, department director, radiologists, technical staff, technologists and students. Shares appropriate information with staff
• Schedules Radiology Technologist and HCA shifts
• Monitors supply inventory and maintains adequate supply levels
• Assists in development and review of routine procedures and protocols and communicates updates with staff
• Responds to Radiologist concerns
• Performs image quality assurance and performs quality assurance tests/takes action to address equipment failures. Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Troubleshoots equipment problems
• Serves as resource for other hospital departments
• Serves on departmental and hospital committees
• Assists in interviewing and hiring new personnel
• Performs or delegates completion of required audits (weekly, monthly, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in health sciences, or equivalent
• Two+ years’ experience in area of specialty

OR

• An approved equivalent combination of education and experience

• Currently certified with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Maintains minimum CEU credits as mandated by the ARRT
• Possess current CPR certification or obtain within 6 months of employment
