Job Duties:
Revenue Agent I (Part-time)
Provide direct delivery of quality customer services to our clients within the Commissioner of the Revenue's DMV Select. Services include vehicle registration & titling, tax collection, and other DMV and non-DMV services. All programs and services are customer service-focused, following statutory and administrative procedural requirements such as the Motor Vehicle Code of Virginia, DMV Select policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, the Privacy Protection Act, and the Freedom of Information Act.
Customer service experience, personal computers, computer information systems, databases and how they support service operations, mathematics, basic accounting practices, and principles such as reconciliations. Interpret, explain, and apply complex statutes such as the Motor Vehicle Code and other laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, and adapt to frequent statute, policy, and procedural changes. Analyze records, files, and other documents to reach logical and legal conclusions. Proven ability to work well under pressure during peak workload periods, work cooperatively with others in a team environment, communicate in a courteous, professional, and tactful manner, both orally and in writing, with all levels of staff and a diverse customer population, complete required employee training, perform work tasks as assigned, operate all equipment necessary to perform the job. Monday –Friday.
- Applies knowledge that supports processing accuracy and productivity levels.
- Effectively applies knowledge of Motor Vehicle Laws, regulations, and operational policies and procedures consistently and accurately.
- Receives performance feedback and makes changes and improvements in own performance.
- Processes transactions efficiently and timely as directed by management by limiting idle time and maximizing total time in service when working the front counter. Utilizes time efficiently, staying focused on tasks.
- Ensures assets are properly maintained and secure at all times, following guidelines.
- Reports any suspicious or potentially fraudulent or criminal activity to management.
- Balance cash drawer by limiting the number of revenue collection discrepancies according to policy.
- When conducting document preparation, record all errors found on the discrepancy summary and ensures accountability of recorded liens.
- Ensure all DMV assets and information are appropriately handled and safeguarded.
- Cross-trains to assist with the Personal Property Division in the Commissioner of the Revenue's office.

Minimum Requirements:
MINIMUMS:
High School or GED plus one (1) year of experience in a field which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, such as accounting.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
All employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.
