What is Job Corps? It is the country's most extensive nationwide residential career training program and has been operating for over 50 years. Oneonta Job Corps offers training in the medical trades (Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, and Medical Administrative Assistant), Automobile trades (Auto Body and Auto Technician), Construction Trades (Tile Setting, Cement Mason, and Electrical), and our advanced trades (Overhead Line, Rural Underground Distribution, SMART Meter, and our Drone Program).

Position Available: Senior Administrative Assistant

We are seeking a Full-Time Senior Administrative Assistant who will perform a wide variety of complex and responsible administrative duties for the Center Director. We are looking for someone who has strong organizational and time management skills, the ability to generate standard business letters, forms, contracts, proposals, presentations, etc. Excellent interpersonal skills; excellent communication skills both verbal and written. The ability to handle multiple tasks. Someone who is proficient in the use of computer software such as MSWord, Excel, Power Point, Desktop Publishing, Outlook, etc. And has the ability to operate office equipment.

In this position, you will manage the Center Directors phone calls, and schedule, set-up meetings and maintain center calendar of events, activities, happenings. You will operate as the liaison between Oneonta Job Corps Center and the Federal Department of Labor Regional Office in Boston conducting report compilation and submission, gathering information and drafting emails. You'll scheduling calls, meetings and reports that occur weekly, monthly and quarterly that are required to be sent to the Regional Office. You'll document meeting minutes for Center Director meetings and disseminate information as needed. You'll also maintain/file documentation of meetings, maintain, update and compile center plans annually to include Staff and Student Handbook, Standard Operating and Corporate Operating Policies, Desktop Reference– CDSS, Handbook, SOPs, COPs and DTRs, Safety Plan approvals, etc. And during Regional and Corporate Office assessments, handle the needs of the assessors and act as a point of contact for the assessment team.

High School Diploma, Associates or Bachelor’s preferred. Three Years of varied and progressively responsible secretarial experience at an administrative level.
