OnsitePrimary Responsibilities:
- Ensure that hourly associates obtain appropriate training and process certification to maintain the correct knowledge in all regulations, procedures, and processes.
- Assist and participate as required in all audits.
- Assist in the creation, implementation and maintenance of procedures as required in support of product or process improvement initiatives.
- Research and develop new manufacturing techniques and/or tooling to improve throughput, reduce scrap/rework, improve product quality.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality teams to determine best manufacturing process design.
- Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with approved data and conforms to all manufacturing and quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain appropriate documentation for all work in accordance with company standards and customer requirements.
- Work with hourly associates and manufacturing support functions to help meet Customer requirements.
- Drive, implement, participate in all 5S, training, continuous improvement initiatives of the area.
- Perform root cause analysis and uses problem solving tools: 5 whys, RCCA, fishbone diagram.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- This position requires an HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a HS diploma, GED or AA/AS degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required.
- GD&T and blueprint reading experience are required.
- Proficiency in some and ability to learn: general assembly, sonic welding, bonding, riveting, seat assembly.
- Ability to train others
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in Aerospace and/or Aviation
- Previous Quality Inspection
- Experience in a Team Lead role
- Experience in a job shop environment
