$500 Bonus after subbing in the classroom for 20 eight hour shifts

La Bella Vita Montessori School is an authentic Montessori education for infants through 6th grade and could be your home away from home!

This is the perfect position that is flexible to work around your school, family or retirement schedule. Our Substitute Teachers are an integral part of the work we do with children ages 6 weeks thru 6th grade in our Northwest Omaha location. The position is as needed based on the daily needs of the teachers. Most days/shifts are scheduled in advance, with the occasional last minute phone call. Substitute Teachers will be needed to fill in when staff are sick or children are sick, on vacation, personal days etc. There is also a possibility for longer assignments when teachers are out on leave.

Responsibilities of a Substitute Teacher:

• answer phone calls or texts from teachers in need with a prompt response
• spending time and caring for children in the classroom ages 6 week thru 6th grade
• a positive and caring attitude towards children, staff, and parents
• assisting children with eating, napping, and diapering/toileting
• assisting with daily cleaning chores in the class

Requirements of a Substitute Teacher:

• High School diploma
• at least 20 years old
• Current First Aid/CPR certified (We will pay for)
• Willingness to learn and follow the Montessori philosophy
• 1500 verified clock hours working with children in an organized group setting (Examples would be working in a child care center, Sunday School, or other job working with children younger than 13 years old and can be verified by a letter from that employer)
• Experience working with young children, infants through preschool age
• Reliable transportation
• Preferred but not required would be an Associate’s. Bachelor’s degree or related degree in early childhood education/child development
