Description:

As a utility locator, your job is to locate, identify, and mark underground utilities before construction or other projects in an area. As part of this, you may research the history of utility in the areas, document any irregularities, enforce utility separation requirements, and provide customer support. Locators are required to read maps and blueprints to determine where utilities are located and protect those underground utilities from damage during excavation. If someone has worked with utilities and the past and does not have locating experience, they are willing to train on the job. This is also a position where one can get trained on fiber optics
