DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete daily inspections of all lift equipment (Reach truck and Ride on Forklift). Ensure proper charging of batteries and report equipment deficiencies immediately. • Comply with all Ontario Health and Safety Act guidelines and company polices for Health and Safety, Food Safety and Food Security. • As per the Food Safety Program, inspect, confirm, and record the receipt of shipments in the ERP System. Immediately report discrepancies in quantity or product type to Purchasing. • Once lot traceable materials are received, immediately provide QA with all documents (including COA) so the materials can be inspected and released for use. • Ensure inventory accuracy by following FIFO for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods. • Communicate regularly with Production Supervisor and Logistics Coordinator to prioritize picking of orders and sequencing of shipping. • Work in a respectful and professional manner with all drivers to best represent the Company. • Complete and maintain all shipping and receiving records in a timely fashion. • Participate in regular cycle counts and period end full physical inventory counts. • Ensure the warehouse is organized and maintained according to the Food Safety/Food Security Programs. Identify opportunities for improvement to the Production Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS: • Certified to operate a forklift and reach truck. • High School Diploma or equivalent • 3-5 years of experience in a shipping/receiving function • Capability and desire to take direction and work with limited supervision • Ability to comprehend verbal and written instructions (English). • Basic math skills (Addition-Subtraction-Multiplication-Division). • Ability to write clearly and legibly • Passion for delivery of quality results with a high degree of accuracy. • Strong Multi-tasking and time management skills • Ability to follow instructions with high attention to detail • Advanced Computer Knowledge and experience with scan guns, ERP systems etc. • Capacity to ask questions, check assumptions and embrace change. • Adaptable to changing conditions and able to work well with others • Experience working in a manufacturing environment will be considered an asset • Flexibility on shifts start/ end times

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 1 month

Salary: From $18.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Morning shift

Supplemental pay types:

  • Overtime pay

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Experience:

  • quality assurance: 3 years (preferred)
