Accounts Payable Clerk
Our company has an outstanding opportunity for a results-focused, highly driven and experienced Accounts Payable Clerk.
Job Responsibilities
- Managing accounts payable using accounting software and other programs
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors
- Ensuring bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures.
- Pay invoices by verifying transaction information; scheduling and preparing disbursements; obtaining authorization of payment.
- Processing due invoices for payments
- Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges
- Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries and reconciling books of accounts
- Pay invoices by verifying transaction information; scheduling and preparing disbursements; obtaining authorization of payment.
- Computing charges and refunds; preparing and mailing invoices; identifying delinquent accounts and insufficient payments.
- Maintain accounting ledgers by posting account transactions.
- Verifies accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.
- Resolves account discrepancies by investigating documentation, issuing stop payments, payments, or adjustments.
- Maintains financial security by following internal accounting controls.
- Maintain financial historical records by filing accounting documents.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or GED
1-2 years of public accounting and/or industry experience is preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook is required.
Administrative Writing Skills, Organization, Data Entry Skills, General Math Skills
