What you’ll do
It’s safe to say, there’s no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role:
- Responsible for executing the internal audit process for Loss Prevention (LP) to ensure information on operational deficiencies are identified and controls are being met in alignment with overall LP objectives.
- Conducting and executing LP audit programs and processes including, preparing audit documentation, identifying risks and action plans, and communicating results with Management
- Ensures efficiency standards are maintained in identifying shrink/loss control and operational deficiencies, while providing effective resolutions through appropriate communication
- Documents problems and opportunities with the internal audit process and provides a summary of findings to LP management.
- Supports the development and execution of action planning by providing insight and assessment of impact of changes on internal audit controls and outcomes
- Identifies opportunities to build and improve on various existing processes, programs and current standards that directly impact Loss Prevention activities in the business
- Develops effective partnerships with LP partners, Nationally and Globally on Audit programs to ensure best practices are applied to audit programs and processes
- Provides advice and guidance to team members, in relation to compliance, procedures, and standard execution
What you’ll need
To begin your career with us, we require the following:
- Post-secondary education in related field or equivalent experience
Minimum two (2) to three (3) years progressive experience in Retail, with experience in operations and loss prevention preferred
- Minimum one (1) to two (2) years business experience in a control related environment
- Minimum one (1) to two (2) years of experience in public or internal auditing or consulting experience (including control review experience).
- Bilingualism (French and English) is required, both verbal and written
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to vehicle.
- Required to travel to various locations 50% of the time (overnight travel 25% to 30% of the time).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including interviewing, negotiating, listening, conflict management, information gathering and coaching
- Strong investigative methodologies and experience with analytical and critical thinking skills to provide solutions; ability to leverage prior experience and adapt quickly to the changing work environment
- Knowledge of the global and national retail landscape and market trends to support the development of future strategies; solid understanding of business tools and reports to make business recommendations
- Strong problem-solving skills including analysis of information (i.e., requirements; description of problems); provide solutions with cost implications to effectively resolve issues and execute strategic solutions
- Strong sense of confidentiality; requires discretion and thorough knowledge of organizational operations, procedures, and policies
