Job Title: DZ Delivery Driver

Reports To: Regional Manager, Procurement

Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent (Monday – Friday from 8 am – 4 pm)

Salary: $21.15 / hour

Location: 155 Bermondsey Road, East York (possibility to relocate to central GTA)

Reporting to the Director, of Procurement, the Delivery Driver (DZ) drives our DZ trucks and supports Corporate donations and Corporate transfers from the warehouse. The DZ driver is responsible for loading, unloading, sorting, staging, and transporting products to our ReStore warehouses. They will also support the warehouse coordinator when needed in offloading trailers of Corporate products.

The Opportunity

• Safely operate a DZ truck (26ft) in addition to other trucks as required and mechanical lifting devices including manual pallet truck, hand truck, and dollies
• Drive to pick up donations, according to a predetermined route (stores, distribution centers, corporate showrooms etc.) and drop offs to sites (i.e. ReStore and Habitat GTA Office locations within the GTA)
• Adhere to legal driving standards and regulations
• Deliver exceptional customer service to volunteers, donors and stakeholders
• Conduct daily inspections and complete pre and post-trip reports of company vehicles and equipment (truck, fork lift, shrink wrapper, pump trucks, dollies)
• Assist with loading and unloading materials from donors, ReStores, trailers, and in the warehouse
• Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code
• Identify safety hazards and complete daily and monthly health and safety inspections
• Represent Habitat for Humanity GTA as a Brand Ambassador by modeling our values and guiding principles

What You Bring

• Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
• Valid class DZ driver's license and a clean driver's abstract are required
• Safety boots required: CSA-approved safety footwear to be worn at all times
• Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) on a regular basis
• Friendly and helpful demeanor
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to effectively listen and provide directions
• Enjoys dealing with the public and has excellent customer service skills
• Works well independently and as part of a team
• Trustworthy and accountable
• Punctual, reliable and has a good attendance record
• Pickup & delivery, construction, or warehouse experience is considered
