: Root & Rebound is a national reentry and advocacy organization that addresses racial, economic, and social inequities within the criminal justice system and the reentry process by restoring and protecting rights, dignity, and opportunities for people directly impacted by the criminal justice system. Our mission is to restore power and resources to the families and communities most harmed by mass incarceration through legal advocacy, public education, policy reform and litigation—a model rooted in the needs and expertise of people who are directly impacted. We are headquartered in Oakland, California with satellite offices in Fresno, Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Greenville, South Carolina. The Data Analyst VISTA will play a major support role in making data-driven decisions and strategies for our growing organization. This individual will create strong feedback loops from the clients we serve to our programs and leadership teams and refine our online surveying and data tracking platforms. This position is ideal for someone who is creative, detail-oriented, persistent in the face of roadblocks and eager to support systems-impacted individuals gain access to reentry support. Those who wish to pursue careers in the research and data science field, and/or the nonprofit sector would be a great fit for this position.

Member Duties : Analyzing and responding to appropriate data requests in regards to grants, information needed, Using case management software, Python, Google Query, Sheets and Excel to sort and organize data in an appropriate manner. Specifically pertaining to our major grants, pulling appropriate demographic data and filling out reports with information as needed, Collaborating with entities within R&R to develop narratives and background information for said grants, Managing Google folder + Drive of institutional knowledge pertaining to DDS, including templates, data breakdowns, and resources,Tracking client responses and coordinating sending out gift cards to clients who complete the survey, At wrap-up, developing a results report, and analyzing survey results to see trends and information from clients we are not seeing.
