The Spanish Bilingual Case Manager is responsible for using sound professional judgment and best practices to ensure quality case management services are provided to the respective population while maintaining compliance with established state and federal standards. This position will provide quality social services, individually and in groups, to clients and their families to accomplish program objectives and Agency goals. This position will be providing services to unaccompanied children.
Essential Functions
- Engage and involve children and their sponsors in the reunification process
- Document progress that families and sponsors make toward risk reduction, achievement of service goals and positive case outcomes
- Continually assess ongoing changes in behavior, circumstances or conditions that may affect child safety
- Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that are applicable to this position
- Maintain up to date documentation in Portal
- Maintain a case load in accordance with agency policies and procedures and licensing and contract standards
- Compile, prepare, submit, and maintain accurate records, files, forms, statistics, and additional information in accordance with agency policies, licensing and/or contract requirements
- Determine all options available for the youth within the required time frame
- Screen calls prior to facilitating communication with minor to ensure child safety
- Utilize the assistance of Case Aides to achieve program goals
- Willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed or requested by Lead Case Manager
- Implement DS safety protocols including evacuating children and other staff in case of an emergency
- Ensure confidentiality in all program operations and service population
- Uphold professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in the DS employee handbook
- Work in a fast-paced environment and remain emotionally controlled
- Ensure the follow up service phone calls are conducted 30 days after UAC’s reunification and discharge from program
- Coordinate fingerprint appointment for sponsor
- Attend daily department musters
- Must assist in the evacuation of UACs, as needed
Knowledge and Skills
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Document processes and perform record keeping
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to always maintain professionalism
- Prioritize and organize responsibilities and duties efficiently
- Work expertly either independently or as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences, human services, or social service fields
- Must have at least one year of experience working with child welfare standards, best practices, or quality assurance or compliance
- Preferred,1 year of related experience and/or training in, ORR operated shelters
- Experience working with immigrant populations and child welfare, preferred
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish, ready to prove proficiency
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, motor vehicle record check, and a criminal background check
