Staff Accountant - Accounts Receivable (Corporate Office- Full Time)
Location: Corporate office 253 America Place, Jeffersonville, IN
Reports to:
The Staff Accountant - Accounts Receivable will report to the Accounting Manager.
Job Overview:
The Staff Accountant - Accounts Receivable is responsible for tracking and invoicing activity related to industrial billing (voucher) sales within the company for store specific accounts.
Duties include:
- Gather relevant credit data and obtain approval (or rejection) of credit applications within 5 business days of submission.
- Gather necessary documents for Accounts Receivable processing.
- Reconcile and bill transactions related to the industrial billing function of the POS system for weekly, bi-weekly and monthly (work & safety voucher programs, charitable voucher programs).
- Reconcile and apply payments to customer accounts timely and accurately.
- Monitor credit lines and reach out to customers when necessary for payment or review of account.
- Follow collection procedures and escalate issues or delinquent accounts timely.
- Provide support with customer account setup and communication.
- Perform journal entries including write-offs, payments, tax issues, etc. for month end close.
- Update and reconcile industrial billing balance sheet for assigned stores at beginning of each fiscal month.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred.
- Ability to work with a high degree of professionalism and personal integrity.
- Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; need to be creative, adaptable and able to accurately work with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and establish timelines to meet agreed upon deadlines and objectives.
- Experience with month-end closing process preferred.
