The Store Systems POS Specialist is a subject matter expert in emerging payment technologies with responsibility to build, acquire, implement and maintain information technology solutions, to support the objectives of our business. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be a part of innovative projects and new retail hardware/software products, that will help position our business for future growth and success.
Applying a creative mindset and approach will be required, in the ever changing payment technology industry. You also draw on your communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of our payment technology investments for key stakeholders. The position is fully engaged in areas such as Point of Sale systems and upgrades, fuel controllers, Convenience Fuel Retail, software defined store, gold image configurations, PCI compliance and merchant service providers.

Your roles and responsibilities:
- Responsible for application/infrastructure maintenance including upgrades, patches, preventative maintenance, optimization and lifecycle management (including decommissioning) to provide stability and reliability with our technology solutions.
- Deliver application/infrastructure enhancements using proven methodologies, tools and best practices.
- Responsible for planning, implementing, testing and integrating new applications.
- Lead advanced customer roll outs, testing, troubleshooting and quality assurance.
- Deliver tier 3 application support when required and escalate as necessary to ensure that issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Support the management of technology assets through lifecycle from new request to decommissioning and ensuring reporting and tracking accuracy.
- Develop the change and release management process including defining release strategy & activities for change projects, service readiness & acceptance and service transition
- Develop and test the failure response, disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure adequate recovery time in order to minimize any disruptions
- Identify, assess and communicate operational risks and support the development of recommendations outlining how to reduce any risk exposure
- Maintain and update key application process and procedures documentation to ensure that collateral is kept up-to-date and utilized by new team members to ensure business continuity
- Build and maintain fully operational technology labs to facilitate product release, troubleshooting and training, where applicable
- Work with 3rd party software and technology vendors to build and support new systems, applications and integrations
- Coach/educate others within the team and other departments

Education and experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or equivalent would be preferred.
- Overall 10+ years of experience in progressively advancing roles within Technology or related function
- Hands-on experience with software development and system administration
- Experience with Project Management methodologies, concepts and tools
- Experience with business process management (BPM) concepts and tools
- Knowledge of selected coding languages (e.g. JavaScript, Java)
- Familiarity with various operating systems (e.g. Windows, UNIX) and databases (e.g. MySQL)
- Experience in cloud technologies (e.g. Azure, AWS)
