Our Capital Markets Analyst Internship Program is a great way for current students to get a head start on their career, working for one of Canada's investment banks. Undergraduate students spend their final summer before graduation gaining technical training; hands-on capital markets experience and industry insights.

Desjardins Capital Markets is looking to recruit successful applicants into our Montreal or Toronto office for our Corporate Banking business. This program provides students with the chance to enhance their profile by gaining insightful market knowledge, develop important industry contacts and gain clarity on an uplifting career.

This Summer Internship is designed to introduce undergraduates to the dynamic and challenging career of Corporate Banker, involving debt financed transactions in various environments and across different industries. Students will enjoy exposure to a broad range of assignments encompassing credit and financial analysis through annual loan reviews, new credit applications and preparation of new debt financing proposals.

Providing a solid understanding:

You will receive end-of-summer reviews as well as constructive feedback from your business manager throughout your placement. Great care and resources have been devoted to ensure that at the end of the summer you have a solid understanding of the elements necessary for a successful career in global financial markets.

Each candidate will be evaluated on their individual merit. Academic background in business or finance is a prerequisite.

Candidates must be entering the final year of their undergraduate program in the Fall of 2022.
Most importantly, they must demonstrate a desire to learn and an eagerness to make a meaningful contribution to the team environment at Desjardins Capital Markets.
General Information on the Position
Main Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation of annual reviews and amendments
  • Assist with loan and related documentation review
  • Establish and maintenance of various databases designed to assist with both credit analysis/approval and new client/business development activities
  • Prepare assorted internal management reports
  • Perform Ad hoc responsibilities to be determined on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience
  • Undergraduate degree to be completed by the Spring term of the following year
  • Clearly defined interest in Corporate Banking and/or Financial analysis

  • Proven record of outstanding achievement in academic and extracurricular activities
