SAC Wireless has just launched a new “30 Hour Work Guarantee” policy that assures TIS crews will be credited for working 30 hours per week. Under this policy, if SAC is not able to schedule 30 or more hours of regular work to our crew employees in each week, those employees will still be paid for at least 30 hours, whether they have worked that many hours or not, at their regular rate of pay. Please ask your recruiter for a more detailed overview of the policy during the hiring process.

As a Tower Technician, one will have a solid understanding of the wireless industry. 50-70% of the time is spent onsite climbing cell towers. One must fully grasp all aspects of the initial training (of the Associate Tower Tech). Tower Technicians must support the lead tower hand when working top side and support the Tower Foreman when on the ground. One must have a basic understanding of color coding, weatherproofing, grounding, equipment installations, etc. (as it pertains to the SOW at hand).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow all state and federal safety regulations (OSHA, local turfing vendor, Tower Co., etc.) while working in an efficient and productive manner.
  • Required to work at heights installing telecom equipment/materials on towers, monopoles, etc. including mounts, radios and antennas.
  • Interprets various documents (e.g. blueprints, diagrams, manufacturer specifications, etc.) to ensure proper installation of antenna systems using technical expertise and knowledge of blueprints and diagrams.
  • A willingness to travel when and where required.

  • Tower/Rescue
  • First Aid/BBP and CPR
  • SACW IIPP
  • PPE use and requirements
  • Lock out Tag out
  • RF Awareness
  • SACW onboard/protocols
  • Rigging
  • GHS (formally MSDS)
  • Special equipment (aerial lift, forklift, backhoe, capstan, etc.)
  • OSHA Training

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced understanding of rigging
  • Connector install experience
  • System testing (load hopping) – PIM, ANRITSU Fiber, etc. experience
  • Coax, Fiber routing/handling experience
  • Top side and bottom side grounding experience
  • Cad welding experience
  • Safety conscious
  • Able to take direction
  • Self-motivated
  • Quick learner
  • Hard-working
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Accurately complete detailed forms and reports
  • Frequent travel required with overnight trips
  • Physically able to climb 1000 vertical feet per day
  • Ability to perform Tower Rescues
  • Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
